Memorial Day {2012}

I am so thankful to my God for this life that he has breathed into me...and as if that wasn't enough, he gave me a beautiful family to share it with.  I am also thankful to our military who have sacrificed and are sacrificing daily for this country...some people take this freedom we enjoy for granted, but I try not to...

This past Saturday, we celebrated Memorial weekend with a trip into the Wichita Mountains to see everything that we didn't get to see on the first trip. We had a great time and not even once did the boys fuss for the whole 3 hours we were there.

atop Mt. Scott:

As we celebrate Memorial Day and the sacrifices that have been made for the freedom of this country, let us also be thankful for Christ's sacrifice and the freedom that we have in Him.

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36

"Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace." Romans 6:14

"For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
2 Corinthians 3:17

"But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ." Galatians 3:22

"For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love." Galatians 5:13

Memories Made in May

Yes, there are days when I feel like pulling my hair out and dream of a quiet little cubicle to just be able to think straight. But when it comes right down to it, I wouldn't trade these days of May for anything...or any other day of any other month for that matter. So many memories being made:

a chubby little boy running around after bath time...

a smart little boy playing games on mommy's kindle and switching from one game to another without any help...

brotherly love...

windows down and baby hair blowing...

our fishing trips...

my little "zoo keeper" feeding his food to his animals...

watching this little guy actually eat his food...

my zoo keeper bathing his animals...

our daily morning run...and how each day when I tell Josiah to get in the stroller, he runs to his room first and brings back a toy(s)...each day it is something different...

....shoebox full of blocks...

...plastic container full of blocks...

...bag full of letters...

...his precious animals...

I laughed so hard as I watched him drag his grill all the way from his bedroom to the garage, pick it up, place it on the stoller, and find his seat. I guess he wasn't thinking about where Eli was going to sit!

and this memory: my 14 month old has learned how to get in the stroller all by himself...

my boys with fresh haircuts...

date nights...

learning new things (he's been watching big brother too closely...

the places I find him without his diaper...
