Christmas Traditions {2013}

Naturally, the older our kids get, the more they understand what Christmas is really about.  This year Josiah and Eli were introduced to the nativity scene so we heard a lot about baby Jesus and "kiss-mas".  It's true that we enjoy the gifts and watching them open everything and we are guilty of going "over board" with the gifts.  Next year, we really want to try harder to get them to focus on the true meaning of Christmas.  It's kind of hard competing with Santa Clause when it comes to little kids.  But we really want to do our best at teaching them from a young age about Jesus...from his birth to the cross.

One thing that I do think we actually did a pretty good job at this year was emphasizing family time together and traditions.

Here's a few pics of some of our traditions and what-nots that we enjoyed this year:

The boys took much pride in taking the ornaments off the bottom of the tree and replacing them with their own...I thought that giving them their own tree to decorate would combat this. Nope.  It's a tradition I guess!
