Addison Jordan {3 years old}

Dear Addy Jo,

Today is your 3rd birthday!!!  Just two years ago I was still rocking you while nursing and singing Come Away (by Norah Jones) to you as your little eyelids fought to stay open.  It's all a little bittersweet with you being our last baby.  I can still call you that, right?

As I write this, you are sitting on the coffee table, playing with your toy turtle you received at your little party last night, and watching Clifford.   Your curls are just a bouncing around as you sass that turtle around.  We often refer to you as "Sassy" in this house.  I guess with two big brothers, you didn't have any hope in this department.  You definitely hold your own.  But as sassy and as headstrong as you can be,  you are also extremely sweet to the people who know you best.  You give great cuddles and my heart melts when you say, "Mommy, you're my best friend"  or "Mommy, I just love you."

I love you too, princess.  So very much!!

Before today, I was referring to you as "two going on twenty" because of the way you talk sometimes.  When you are feeling especially sassy, you call me "mom" instead of "mommy" and you start your sentences off with "well, actually......".

Another little thing you say that is incredibly cute is "Thanks you".  I may cry the day that you finally drop the "s" because it really is adorable.

Your best friends are mommy, daddy and Adley Franke.  That's exactly what you would say if someone asked you.

The things you are into:  Shopkins, My Little Pony, anything puppy related, baby dolls.  You still love to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but you have been branching out a little bit lately and watching Clifford, Masha and the Bear, and Bob Zoom.  You absolutely love clothes and shoes.  Your favorite song is a worship song called Break Every Chain and you sing it loudly as we ride down the road and every night at bed time.

You talk frequently of God and how "Jesus is with me in the dark" and how "Jesus made the thunder and the rain".  You actually walked Eli into the dark bathroom the other day  and said, "It's okay Eli.  Jesus will protect you." : )

My hope and prayer for you is that you will carry that faith and trust in Jesus with you for as long as you have breath.  The world is a scary place these days and completely in need of Jesus.  Your daddy and I pray everyday that you would grow up strong in the Lord and that you would love Him with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.  We are already seeing that take place in you and I am so thankful.

I love you so much, Addy Jo! Happy Birthday my sweet girl!

Love,

Mommy
