Hello little one,
It has been about a month since I have written about you but that doesn't mean that I haven't been thinking about you. In fact, you are constantly on my mind!
As soon as my eyes open in the morning, I'm thinking about you- wondering if a wave of nausea is going to hit me when I stand up. I think about you as I wake up several times during the night because you are pressing down on my bladder. But most of all, I think about what color your eyes will be, the smile that will melt our hearts, what your first word will be, the first steps you will take...I think about what your personality will be like. Will you be multi-talented, super intelligent, and proctrastinate like your daddy? Will you inherit his gift for preaching/speaking?... or will you be more like me?...A planner and list maker who is very neat and organized? Will you inherit my love for writing?
I'm sure that you will develop your own personality along with a mixture of traits from each of us. My main concern is that we raise you to love the Lord and come to know Him as your Savior. The bible says in Proverbs: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." It is my prayer each and everyday that the Lord will make us fit parents who raise you by His words and commandments.
Not to change the subject, but today I had a doctor's appointment. So far, I have gained four pounds. By the time I am twenty weeks along, the doctor wants me to have gained a total of ten pounds. So I have several weeks to gain six more pounds, which shouldn't be hard to do since my appetite is returning now that most of the nausea has subsided.
The doctor also let me hear your heartbeat today. Before he placed the doppler on my tummy, he told me not to get upset if we didn't hear anything because it's not very often that the doppler will pick up the heartbeat at this stage in a pregnancy. However, we immediately heard your strong little heart as soon as that thing was placed on me! I can't explain how happy that sound makes me!
Here's my first pregnancy bump picture...a slight bump has finally started to form!
